The association is also very fortunate to house the Kentucky Beef Council’s beef check-off program and the Kentucky Beef Network in its offices. The Kentucky Beef check-off (a marketing and promotion program) receives a $1 investment for every bovine animal sold in the state of Kentucky. This step gets calves prepared to go to the next stage: the feedlot. On resale by the stocker operator, these calves either go back through the auction system or an Internet sale.
