Poetry, art event at Bone Creek
DAVID CITY — Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art will host poets Twyla Hansen, JV Brummels and Leo Kovar in the third annual “Art and Poetry at Bone Creek” at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
All three of these poets have a deep interest in agrarianism based on where they grew up and on their personal life experiences. This event celebrates agrarianism, artistic expressions, and the current exhibition at Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art, “Dale Nichols: Transcending Regionalism,” which features 30 artworks representing Nichols’ years on the farm in Nebraska.
The poetry reading will be followed by an informal discussion with the poets about the evolving meaning of agrarianism.

Indian school reunion Saturday
GENOA — The Genoa Indian School Reunion/Celebration will be held Saturday at the Genoa Indian School Museum and Interpretive Center, 209 East Webster.
This year marks the 22nd year of this celebration. To honor and celebrate the students that attended the Genoa School, the 43 Tribal Nations that had students attend have sent their Tribal Nation’s Flag/Tribal Seal.
The program at the evening meal will be recognition of each Native American present. A short memorial will occur in honor of former students and family who have passed this year, and the Wolfe Family Scholarship also will be presented.
The day will include Muzzleloader camp activities, barn tours, tours of the Indian School Interpretive Center, access to the downtown museum, native crafters, presentations and food.

Antique show slated Saturday
COLUMBUS — Tractor Supply Company of Columbus will host an antique tractor and machinery show from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 in its parking lot.
The event includes hay rack rides and a concession stand with free lunch tickets for exhibitors. Tractors need to be set up by 11:30 a.m.

Singles dance Saturday at VFW
COLUMBUS — The Columbus Area Support Group for Widowed, Divorced and Separated will hold a singles dance from 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday at the VFW Club.
