Led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber, the N7WN is to be chosen by people through a global poll. From over 440 sites nominated in 2007, the first round of voting was held online and the list was trimmed down to 77 nominees. On the second round, a panel of experts recommended the 28 finalists based on the unique beauty of the site, the diversity and distribution across the globe, the site’s ecological significance, and its historical legacy. The third and final round of voting began in 2009.
In a press conference held last July 23, Puerto Princesa’s assistant city administrator and city tourism officer Rebecca Labit enjoined all Filipinos to vote.
Regional director Louella C. Jurilla of the Department of Tourism Southern Tagalog Region shared her enthusiasm and recounted that even her children have been instructed to vote everyday until November.
One may vote as many number of times via e-mail at www.new7wonders.com or text PPUR, PPUR7, PPUR15 to 2861.

If you are planning Puerto Rico vacations then you’re sure to would like to see as much as you can. In this post you can learn about 3 of the top spots to go to on the island – Old San Juan, El Yunque rainforest and the islands of Vieques and Culebra – and make the best of your stay there.
First of all, anybody visiting Puerto Rico must go and spend a while in Old San Juan, where in proximity you can go and see attractions like El Morro, the Cathedral, and the Governor’s Mansion.
This part of the city is extremely beautiful, thanks to its historic old houses and El Morro guards the entrance to the harbour, which was used by Spanish galleons to move golfing pillaged from the New World back to the King of Spain.
Once you are done with the history, present shops day trippers from the cruise liners you may visit the beaches around here.
Someplace else worth visiting is El Yunque, Puerto Rico’s rainforest. It's the only rainforest in the States Forestry Service and you can spend a couple of hours on the trails here. After El Yunque head for Luquillo beach. As well as providing a great sandy beach there are lots of kiosks where you can eat.
As well as the primary island, you may also go by ferry or air to Culebra and Vieques. The price of the ferry is tiny and both islands provide a nice getaway where you can spend 1 or 2 days on the fantastic beaches swimming among the tropical fishes or exploring the coral reefs with a facemask and snorkel.
At night you can eat Caribbean style while drinking Margaritas and listing to the sounds of local musicians.
If you only have sufficient time to see a couple of things in Puerto Rico but need those to be various I would recommend the Old San Juan, El Yunque rainforest, and the islands. If you're staying in a resort then ask at the desk about tours they can organize, which often include San Juan and El Yunque, though you may have to make your own arrangements for the islands.
